How to share Data on
a Network
One of the most
valuable aspects of Advanced Diary is it's ability to share data
with others. The Advanced Diary is built from the ground up to be
inherently multi-user sharable without additional purchases of
special high priced exchange server software.
Advanced Diary supports two database types: Local Databases and
Shared Databases.
The Local databases cannot be shared on a Network. Advanced Diary
will display an appropriate message if you will try to do it.
To
share an information on a Network, you need to create the Shared
Database.
Go
to the Database Manager window
("File - Database Manager" program's main menu item or click an
appropriate button on the program's toolbar).
In
this window press the "New"
button and select the "Shared database" type in the "New Database"
dialog box:
Then click the
"OK button. New database
will be created.
You are Done! Now just make this database active on other computers
on your Network.
You can edit or create records and these changes will be available
for all users immediately!
Shared Database Limitations:
1.
Advanced Diary does not stores the sticker window size and
position.
2.
Advanced Diary does not stores the folder's state (closed/opened)
in the Documents tree.
